College of Entropy

Surrounded by enemies on all sides, Meera took out her lucky coin. She flipped it in the air, calling upon the chaotic magic that always seemed to get her out of these situations, and as her enemies became entranced by its glint, she pulled out her rapier and charged into their midst, a smile on her face.

Meera, a Bard of the College of Entropy

Bards from the College of Entropy believe that a life without risk isn’t a life worth living. Rather than carefully planning out their next moves, they throw themselves into the fray, and hope for the best, an unpredictable philosophy that somehow works out for them more oft than not.

While some bards focus on inspiring others, these bards use their abilities to draw upon the luck of others, earning them the nickname ‘luck stealers’. The nature of their strange bardic magic can have unintended consequences however, and both friends and foe may want to keep a safe distance when one of their chaotic magic surges erupts.

Roleplaying Tips.
Any bard trained in the College of Entropy is likely a creature of chaos and instinct. They will most likely pursue whatever actions lead to the greatest pleasure or personal gain, regardless of the risk. That doesn’t mean they lack a sense of altruism, however. They know that the luck that sustains them doesn’t always extend to others around them, and many keep that in mind when considering the lives of their friends and fellow adventurers. Consider taking a background that aligns with their risk-seeking nature, such as a burglar or fugitive, always one step ahead of the law. Or if you’d like something more performative, consider making them a vaudevillian, who uses their chaotic magic to enhance their performances.
