Circle of the Spirits

Aeden turned to her spirit guide, a shadowy raven on her shoulder, “Grant me your vision, ancient one, and guide me to the proper path.” Her eyes went milky white, as the raven soared off into the sky above, and Aeden’s vision along with it…

Some druids tend to more than the land. They also show concern for the health of the spirits of the land. Druids of the Circle of the Spirits build shrines in the wilderness where they commune with both these spirits and the souls of the departed.

These druids’ unique relationship with the spirits of the land grant them an impressive range of powers, including the ability to summon a spirit guide as a familiar, to weaken their enemies’ defenses, and to be brought back from the brink of death. The most powerful druids of the Circle can eventually unlock the ability to ‘spirit walk’, taking on the physical properties of the spirits themselves.

Roleplaying Tips.
When playing a druid of the Circle of the Spirits, you may want to consider exactly what spirits is it you most revere? It could be the ancestral spirits of your druidic clan, the revered ghosts of a line of dwarven kings, or even the recently deceased of a small town cemetery where you grew up. This will most likely influence the form your spirit guide takes, as well as how it interacts with you. Fey-touched, Forest dweller, and nomad all make great potential backgrounds, but you could also be a Master Craftsman from a dwarven clan, whose trade secrets are passed down through the spirits. When it comes to the spirits, the possibilities are endless. As far as interacting with others, your relationship with the spirits could be unsettling to others, while some might seek your help in speaking to the spirits of their lost loved ones. Your character could have quirky personality traits, like a tendency to turn and mutter things to their spirit guide, or making unnecessarily dramatic statements like “I have foreseen this,” when the bartender asks what you’d like to drink. In any case, you should always remember how the spirits might perceive your actions, and act accordingly.
