DM Quick Start

This post gives you the quick set of instructions for setting up encounters and running a session in Shard Tabletop.
- Click the New Campaign button to create a new campaign. 
- Click the invite button on the campaign and send the invite link to your players. 
- Open the Maps page in the campaign and create a new map. Make sure to set the scale correctly so that tokens will be the right size. 
- Click on the map and select New Encounter. 
- Click Add Monster to pick your monsters from the more than 300 available or create your own. 
- Click Add Treasure to add any treasure (items & coins). 
- Repeat to add additional Encounters (step 4) or Maps (step 3). 
Now let’s run the Adventure.
- Click Adventuring on the campaign page. Players that have joined the campaign will automatically be in the combat tracker. 
- Select your starting map. Click where you want the player characters to start and select Huddle Characters. 
- Un-fog the section of the map you want the players to see on their screen. 
- Click the pin and select Add Encounter to add the monsters to the map and to the combat tracker. 
- If combat breaks out, have players roll and enter their initiative scores on their character sheets. 
- Click the Fist Icon in the combat tracker to assign initiative scores to monsters and sort the list. 
- Run the combat. - Use the down arrow next to turns to advance the turn order. 
- If a monster gets hit click their token and record the damage or set their state to dead. 
- Repeat until combat completes. 
 
- Grant treasure: click the Coin Stack Icon at the top of combat tracker to give out treasure. It will show up in Shared Treasure. 
- Click the Finish Encounter button to clear the monsters and create a log entry. 
- Repeat from step 3.
